Baske Alame ________________________________________________________________ Currently being started in endurance, working cows and barrels / poles. Expecting to see great things from this athletic and intelligent young stallion!! ________________________________________________________________

(pictured) Baske Aflame (aka Tristan) and Maggiano ....  immediately following Tristan's completion and WIN of his first ever endurance ride!!  Completing the 25-mile ride in four hours, on an 85 degree southern California, Lake View Terrace day, against 23 Arabians -- he was also the only horse in the ride to run completely barefoot, with no shoes or boots for any portion of the entire ride!  Although his winter coat was equipped for the mountain weather, he handled the terrain and technicalities of the 3,500+ foot vertical climb flawlessly, especially for being one of the only 4-year olds on the ride ... and also considering that he was started under saddle a mere three months ago! Having some exceptionally good recovery rates, he came into the final vet check pulsing down to the required heart rate and was awarded his time of completion five minutes ahead of the 2nd place nine-year-old gelding, who hadn't competed in one year but had previously done mostly 50-mile rides.  I am truly anxious to see what lies ahead for this absolutely enjoyable young horse ...... (... And as you can tell, Maggiano is showing that he is particularly tired from his "long day" of babysitting and eating at the trailer!  :)

Nothing like a congratulatory scratch from a buddy, to rub off all the 25 miles of sweat!!
